Paintball, Martial Arts and Other Combat Sports
There are two major categories of combat sports, or combative sports. They are Paintball and Martial Arts.
Paintball is a game of wits and strategies. Its growing popularity all over the world has led to a rapidly expanding fan base.
A Combat sport, also known as a Combative sport, is a competitive contact sport where two opponents battle each other using set rules of engagement. Traditional martial arts have no rules. The aim of the combat sport is to simulate parts of real hand to hand combat. Boxing, kickboxing, amateur wrestling, puroresu, mixed martial arts and fencing are examples of combat sports.
A paintball is a gelatin capsule of dye, which comes in different colors and variations. It is used in a military type combat games participated in by teams. A player gets eliminated when he is shot by an opposing player. Paintballs measure only 1.7 cm and burst and splatter when they hit a person. These paintballs are shot by gas powered guns. Originally the paintball guns were used to mark cattle and trees.
Players use gas powered guns to shoot paintballs at each other. It began with normal paintball guns and paintball, and the game was simple –hit each other and win. Since that time paintball has become popular all over the world and has become a globally recognized recreational activity. The game has evolved and has become more sophisticated. The players keep on updating their paintball guns, with the advent of newer technologies. There are now paintball slingshots, crossbows, trip-mine, blowguns, grenade launchers, machine guns and more.
Capture the flag is a classic paintball game. This game requires two opposing teams. The teams have to acquire the opponent’s flag and hang their flag on a designated location. Center flag paintball game is similar to capture the flag with only one difference. The flag to be captured is hung in the center of the field. The teams have to capture that flag and hang it on a designated location somewhere on the opposition base.
To realize a common goal, teammates in a paintball game have two important roles: one is to suppress and the other to invade.
Suppression is a way of creating a distraction for the opponent so that they fail to see the other team that has already starting to invade. The goal of Suppression is not to get rid of enemies. Control and concentration are needed to keep a team member from shooting.
When making an assault, at least two of the paintball players who are making the suppression continually distract one of the opponent’s players in order to conceal the players who are starting to invade and attack the opposing team.
The other role that is played by the rest of the team is invading. The players that are involved in the invasion must try to keep themselves hidden from the opponents while the suppression team is doing their job.
The invasion players target at least the majority of the opposing team’s players. Once they are in position to capture the flag, they must fire with great power and with full force.
Having the markers, tanks, guns, vests and other equipment add to the excitement of paintball.
Some guns require batteries to function,so keep new batteries available. Make sure that you have a small can of oil for the paintball gun. Always use a neck guard to save the neck from those disturbing shots that hit your neck. It makes sense to carry a personal first aid kit. Carry around spare basic safety “gadgets” like a mask, gloves, and pads and have a worry free paintball game.
Combat sports may also be armed and the athletes use weapons, such as 
types of sword in western fencing (the foil, épée and saber) and kendo (shinai). Modern combat sports may also wear complex armour,
Kickboxing is a standing sport and does not allow continuation of the fight once a combatant has reached the ground,with few exceptions.
Boxing is a combat sport and martial art in which two people fight using their fists. Boxing usually is engaged in during a series of one- to three-minute intervals called rounds supervised by a referee.The boxers generally are of similar weight,.
A new sport has recently been introduced called outdoor laser tag, and there are many variations of the martial arts and new games for Paintball.
